MARBLE, SOAPSTONE, GRANITE, QUARTZITE AND QUARTZ COUNTERTOPS SUPPORT REQUIREMENTS

Support bracket requirements are different among different countertop materials, granite, marble quartzite, soapstone and quartz countertops. The thickness of these different stones also is important in determining support requirements for different countertop materials.

For example, marble is a more fragile Stone that’s why it will be supported more. On the other hand, quartz countertops are very durable. They do not need as much support as the natural stone countertops.

Most common sickness in quartz countertops is 3cm. for the thickness, you do not need to do any support up to 16 inches. Beyond 16inches, support brackets will be required. Supporting this storm will also depend on the cutouts. If you have a cut out close to the overhang area, you will still need to support this area. If your quartz countertops are 2cm instead, then the maximum overhang you can go is 12 inches without putting in a support bracket.

How did granite countertops such as episode black, Steel Gray granite will be okay up to 12 inches overhang without any support. How many exotic granite countertops will need to be supported even less than 12 inches of overhang.

Soapstone countertops are also very soft, fragile. They will need more support brackets than some of the other materials.
